The Sorcerer's Apprentice

I give this movie 3 1/2 stars. It was cute, and totally clean, but a little bland.




The plot was a little thin, the acting was ok. I think the Apprentice either had
a cold while filming or was related to Fran Dresher.



I did however LOVE the Steampunk atmosphere of the whole movie. The gorgeous
architecture of the scenery and most especially the extremely steampunk coil on
the front of the car at the end. A delightful juxtaposition of both old fashioned
and modern with a mythical twist.



Plus now I have a new band to check out. They say they are Indie, but they sound an awful lot like Life Decay to me...

UPDATE: yup they are Indie and therefore of no interest to me. But New life is still awesome






So for awesome steampunk bands check out the
French band "Lifes Decay" or the American group "Abney Park"

The Last Airbender

I am a big M. Night Shyamalan fan, so far I have loved every movie of his that I have seen. So it is with much sadness that I give this movie 3 1/2 stars.

It was a pretty slow at times and several of the main characters had less acting skills than my three year old.

The story line was interesting but another draw back for me was I am a very impatient person, and I didn't realize going into the theater that it was going to cut off in the middle of the story and leave us hanging, waiting for the next one to come out. I hate that. I hated it with Lord of the Rings and I don't like it any better now.

I do have a prediction to make though, about something I think they are going to put into a future movie, sadly we have to wait to see if I am right. The Avatar still has to learn fire bending right? I think either Prince Zuko or his Uncle Iroh is going to be the one to teach him and then go on to be a peaceable leader of the fire nation.

I also think Prince Zuko is going to have to fight his father, this time he will, and this time he will win, thus clearing the way for him to be the next ruler.


The story line I thought was quite interesting,

I give the Movie a 2 1/4. Which from me is actually pretty generous.

It did have a few amusing parts, two or three that where actually funny. But in between those parts I was bored. Bored, bored, bored. But then I didnt like the first two at all so the fact that this one was almost ok means, at least to me, that they are getting better.

My hubby loved it, my friends liked it, my other friends liked it. My other other friends liked it too, so maybe it wasn't that bad. But then they all like the first ones.
